Sugar cane: high content of sucrose glycide
What are glycides
Glycerides are organic biomolecules formed hydrogen, oxygen and carbon.
In living beings, they have two important functions: generating energy and acting in the formation of body parts of living beings.
The main glycids:
- Glucose: It is an energy glycide, also known as dextrose, found in honey sugar, grapes and other fruits.
- Sucrose: also energetic, is found mainly in sugar cane and beet. It is the common sugar widely used worldwide.
- Starch: glycid that serves in plants as an energy reserve.
- Cellulose: has the function of forming the cell walls of plants.
